Hookin2Hockey (Kindy – Y4)

Hookin2Hockey program is a great way to introduce your child to the fantastic sport of hockey. In 2024 we are offering three Hookin2Hockey options all following the Hockey WA accredited programs Coach 'n' Play and Core 4.

Hook in2 Hockey only occurs during school terms.

Season 2024

H2h - means just training once a week and no formal games yet. It is a little bit of fun, without the commitment to weekly games.

Location:

- Lilac Hill, Caversham
Saturdays kindy & pre-primary: 9-9.45am and yrs. 1-4: 9-10am

There are 4 super Saturdays each year on 3 different locations where there are mini games. This is from 8.30- 10.30am on Saturday mornings. Dates TBC.

Date: school term 2 and 3. From Saturday 20 April 2024 - No hockey: during school holidays and long weekends.

You dont need to register online until after the trial class on the 20th - however we do ask that you email our coordinator, Arlette, to put your childs name down on the list to cater for numbers. h2h@ogmhc.com.

Age: from kindy at school until year 4 (3yrs of age to 9yrs)

Skill level needed: any skill level is welcome.

Need: You can borrow a stick the first few times you come (at Lilac Hill). No need to buy anything up front.

Ongoingly: You need a stick, t-shirt (not mandatory) and shin pads and long socks.

Can I try: Yes you can try 2 times before you gave to commit.

Volunteer: We are always looking for coaches and parents’ helpers. Let us know if you are keen!

As a parent you don't have to stay but you will be required to volunteer throughout the year. Helping set-up, pack-up, canteen or providing snacks and super Saturday help.

Equipment and uniforms

A hockey starter kit can be ordered if you need it, which includes a stick and shin pads for an additional cost. However if you are new to the sport and not sure if you want to invest in the equipment just yet, we will have a selection of sticks available to use.
For safety reasons, shin pads and mouth guards must be worn during training and matches.
